Newborns are best photographed bare between 5 and 10 days old. All newborn sessions take place in my Duncansville, PA home studio (see photos below). At the studio, I have a large selection of blankets and props such as hand-made beanies, baskets, textured blankets, and flower headbands. Expectant mommies should book a session ON their due date by the beginning of the third trimester and then we will make adjustments when the baby is born. It is so important to photograph during the recommended window of time in order to achieve those sweet sleepy baby poses! An additional purchase of prints or boutique products of $350 is required with a newborn session.
The $100 session fee includes:
- Up to a 3 hour in-studio session
- Siblings may be included in the session for an additional $25 per child. This will include images of the siblings together and a few shots of the sibling alone (one outfit), adding 8-12 final images.
- Parents may also participate for an additional $50 fee. This will include a full family shot as well as mom and dad individually with the baby, adding 8-12 final images.
- Detailed editing and processing of 20-30 final images presented in a private online gallery for 10 days

A baby plan is also available for those families anticipating completing three custom photography sessions. The baby plan includes the session fees for the newborn, 6-month, and 1-year session, a set of 25 press printed custom announcements, and an 8×8 storybook. The minimum order requirements still applies to each session.

Within 2-3 weeks of your session, your online gallery will be ready with your processed images. You may choose to schedule a viewing and ordering session with me to assist you in ordering prints, or you may opt to place your order online from the comfort of your home. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about wall displays and other boutique products. From start to finish, your session is planned to provide you a luxurious boutique experience in both service and products.

FREQUENTLY ASKED NEWBORN QUESTIONS:
Q: My baby is already older than 15 days; I still want to schedule a session. Can I do that? I don’t mind if he or she doesn’t sleep.
A: Unfortunately, no (unless there are extenuating circumstances such as health concerns with the baby.) To get the sweet poses that you see throughout my website, the baby needs to be sleepy and posable. Older babies generally do not stay sleeping to be posed and if baby is awake posing would be very limited. Part of my goal as a custom photographer is to give my clients the BEST possible artistic experience and I don’t feel that I can deliver a great session to an older newborn. I recommend waiting until baby is 6-months old to book a child or family session.
Q: What happens if I deliver very early or go way over my due date?
A: It’s no problem! Once you are booked, I will put your due date on my calendar just as a reminder that your session will be “around” that time. Once the baby has arrived, you will send me a text or email, and we will choose the official session date (at age 5-10 days old.)
Q: I’m worried about my baby being naked during the session: will he/she get cold? What if they “go” on your blankets?
A: The thermostat will be set to 85 degrees and two space heaters will be set up, so your baby will be nice and toasty. And if they have an accident, please don’t worry, we will clean it up and just continue. Everything is washable!
